Can you walk on the Metal Tiles

One of the common questions is: Can you walk on those tiles? The answer is yes. You can. There is a number of things you need to know before you get up on the roof (I mean any roof, tiled, metal or shingles).

First you have to have a good reason to get up there. Every trip up on the roof is a risk and it is good to have a reason to risk your life and this reason should be good.

Then you have to wear the right shoes, not slippery, with soft rubber sole, prefferably white (so you do not leave black marks on the surface), and not heavy, so you do not dent the metal.

Stay away from the edge. When you step on the roof always step on the low parts of the profile (pans or valleys) and where the battens are underneath. That is important to avoid the dents on the ribs.

  1. LOL. I don't see the point of going up to your roof without any reason. But I guess one of their reasons would be just to see the view from their roof. I have to agree that it is really risky to go up there. But if you're already there, then all you have to do is be careful, right?

  2. Hi Monique

Thank you for reading our post.

I can appreciate your point, but sometimes you have to get up on the roof. For example to fix a leak or to install an TV antenna or something like that. You can always to get a professional to do that, but some people feel good doing those small repairs them selves.

So my post was for those people who were asking this question.

You can always find more information about roofing materials and installation tips ar www.coroofs.com.au and www.easytiledcarports.com.au

  3. Why get on the roof? On the second story, the gutters need cleaning, even with the leaf guards, since we have pine needles from nearby trees. The leaf guards do help a lot to keep me on the ground!

  4. Find out how to start your own roofing services. The thing about starting your own roofing services is that the chances of a person in need of your service are there.
